What Is the Walk to Emmaus?
The Walk to Emmaus is a three-day Christian retreat experience based on the story in Luke 24:13–35, where two disciples encounter the risen Christ on the road to Emmaus. Just like those disciples, participants today are invited to walk more closely with Jesus—renewing their faith, rekindling their commitment, and deepening their understanding of God’s grace.
The Walk to Emmaus is led by lay and clergy volunteers, grounded in prayer, worship, and loving community. It’s not just a retreat—it’s a spark that can ignite lifelong transformation.

Purpose of the Walk
– To help Christians strengthen their spiritual life.
– To equip church leaders and everyday believers for greater service in the local church and community.
– To develop intentional disciples who live out their faith with authenticity, humility, and joy.
Who Is It For?
The Walk to Emmaus is open to committed Christians from all denominations—men and women who are already part of a church and are seeking to grow spiritually. It’s especially impactful for:
– Church members wanting to grow deeper in their walk with Christ
– Ministry leaders and volunteers
– Individuals discerning their next steps in faith
– Anyone feeling spiritually dry and in need of renewal
There are separate weekends for men and women, and youth versions like Chrysalis and Journey to the Table are also available.
What Happens on the Walk?
The weekend is a three-day experience, usually from Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon. It includes:
– Worship and communion
– 15 inspiring talks on grace, discipleship, and the Christian life
– Time for reflection, journaling, and group discussion
– Delicious meals, music, and fellowship
– Surprises of God’s love through Agape
What Happens After?
The Walk is just the beginning. After your weekend, you’ll be invited into a Fourth Day community—a network of fellow pilgrims who continue walking with Christ through:
– Small group support (reunion groups)
– Monthly gatherings (called community or “Emmaus” events)
– Opportunities to serve on future walks and in your local church
How Do I Attend?
You’ll need a sponsor—someone who has already attended a Walk to Emmaus and will support you before, during, and after the weekend. If you don’t have one yet, we’ll help you find one.
