Guest Preparation

We’re thrilled to have you join us at Mercy Retreat Center for a time of reflection, fellowship, and spiritual renewal. Below is a helpful checklist and preparation guide to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and meaningful retreat experience.


What We Provide:

  1. Bedding and Towels – We’ll take care of these essentials, so you don’t need to bring them.
  2. Meals, Snacks, Coffee, Water, and Other Drinks – We’ll provide all meals and refreshments throughout the retreat.
  3. First Meal: Our first shared meal will be breakfast on the morning following your arrival. Please be sure to have dinner before arriving on the first night.
  4. Retreat Materials – All books and resources required for sessions will be supplied.

Packing List – Travel Light and Stay Comfortable!

  1. Toiletries – Be sure to bring all personal hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.).
  2. Pack Medications – Ensure you have any required medications and health-related items.
  3. Optional Comfort Items – You are welcome to bring an extra pillow or blanket for added comfort.
  4. Clothing – Dress comfortably, and consider packing:
    • A jacket or sweater if you tend to get cold.
    • A small fan if you prefer a cooler environment, especially in the summer.
  5. Personal Items – Bring along:
    • Your Bible and any prayer items you find meaningful.
    • A notepad or journal and something to write with for reflections and notes.

Important Preparations Before You Arrive

One Week Before the Retreat

  • Plan Transportation – Arrange your travel to and from Mercy Retreat Center, located at 605 S.19th Street, Slaton TX 79364..
  • Inform a Family Member or Friend – Share your plans with someone close to you and provide them with Mark Meurer’s contact number at (806) 789-8456 in case they need to reach you.

Three Days Before the Retreat

  • Pack Medications – Ensure you have any required medications and health-related items.
  • Gather Essentials – Organize toiletries, your Bible, and other personal items to ensure nothing is left behind.

Day Before the Retreat

  • Finalize Packing – Complete your packing, ensuring all essentials are ready to go.
  • Charge Devices – Fully charge any electronic devices you’ll be bringing, such as phones or cameras, and pack chargers.
  • Prepare Mentally – Take a few moments to center yourself spiritually, reflecting on your hopes and goals for the retreat.

    Arrival Instructions

  • Parking – Please use the South parking lot on 19th Street.
  • Check-in – Know your window of time for arrival. Enter under the WELCOME sign along the brick walkway.
  • Dinner Note – Our first meal together will be breakfast on the following morning. Please eat before you arrive, as no meal will be served on the first night.
